High School Student Pantry – Available for Homeless Youth
We want to remind our school community that the High School Pantry is stocked and available to support our homeless students. We have food, hygiene products, bedding, clothing, and more ready for those in need.
According to the McKinney-Vento definition, a student is considered homeless if they do not have fixed, adequate, or regular shelter. This includes children and youth who are:
Living with other families due to loss of housing or economic hardship,
Staying in shelters, motels, or campgrounds,
Living in cars, parks, or other inadequate accommodations (homes without running water, broken windows, etc.)
If this describes your situation or someone you know, please don’t hesitate to come to the high school pantry. Students are welcome to select the items they need, and if transportation is a barrier, we will arrange delivery. All visits to the pantry are kept confidential.
Thank you for helping us support all of our students.
If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact Ms. Cochran at the high school 406-673-3256 or 406-673-3120.
Weekly Thunderbird Schedule May 5 - May 10, 2025

Dear School Community,
On April 28, 2025, we became aware of allegations involving an elementary student, which have since been shared on social media. Please know that we take these matters extremely seriously. After consulting with the District’s legal counsel, I have arranged for an independent investigator to conduct a thorough review of the allegations and provide a detailed report of the findings. Based on those findings, the District will take the appropriate steps to address the situation. The safety and well-being of our students remains our top priority, and we are committed to ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all. Thank you for your understanding and support as we work through this important process.
Sincerely.
Corey Barron
Superintendent
Hays Lodgepole Schools

HLP Students Explore Future Careers at Fort Belknap Career Expo
HLP High School students had an exceptional opportunity to explore potential career paths at the Fort Belknap Career Expo held at the Fort Belknap Bingo Hall. Approximately 60 of our students joined nearly 600 students from across the Hi-Line region to engage with 53 different industries offering workforce-related hands-on activities.
Students interacted with professionals from diverse fields including dental assisting, welding, Northwestern Energy, various colleges, entrepreneurs, and many more. The hands-on activities provided valuable insights into different career options and helped our students envision their futures after graduation.
Many students at HLP now have a clearer understanding of the career paths they want to pursue after graduation, thanks to the interactive format that helped them connect with potential opportunities in a meaningful way.
Each student received a backpack to collect career information and vendor items throughout the day. The event also included a complimentary lunch for all attendees.
The expo was exceptionally organized and well-attended by schools across the Hi-Line, from Browning to Malta. HLP High School extends a heartfelt thank you to all participating vendors and the organizers who made this valuable experience possible.
We look forward to more enriching opportunities like this for our students in the future!
