Environmental Science is an elective offered to juniors. Grades are based on two things - participation (50%) and scores on assignments, etc. (50%). Students lose participation points for non school-related absences (0/5), sleeping in class, tardies, using cell phones, and misbehaving. Students can do make-up assignments to earn 4 of the 5 participation points they lose for each absence up to 15 absences per semester. After 15 absences, they will be stuck with the zeros.
