Content: Native Culture Class (Elective)
The course teaches basic Nakoda Language, how to introduce yourself, being polite and courteous to people, we read Inkdomi stories during the winter, and do projects made up of beading, sewing, finding, identifying and growing plants, and last but not least planning menu's and cooking healthy foods. We also will be doing community serve, by helping out at the community garden and the Hays-Lodge Pole Green House.
Expectations:
- Come to class on time and be prepared.
- Use appropriate behavior, every person has the right to learn.
- Complete all projects on time.
- Participate, in classroom discussions, in classroom projects
Skills Taught:
- Ability to work together as a team.
- Ability to gather information for a power-point/term paper.
- Learn to Speak Nakoda ( Basic introduction, greeting, name, were you live, thank you, and a prayer)
- Community Service
